I know that I’m showing my age when I talk about blackboards but I always tried to have an activity on the blackboard to occupy my class during the inevitable admin. moments at the beginning of the day. It might have been a number sequence to complete or a new word to find out about - but an IWB opens up a whole new ‘board game’ as the saying goes. How about displaying:
- an image displayed in SMART notebook but partially hidden by the spotlight or blind tools
- video clips - try www.planetarkive.org or espresso
- a numeracy problem from www.nrich.maths.org site or set up a problem using the ITP’s - http://www.traffordlearning.org/trafford/Sections/public_html/Teaching/
